Thousand Islands Regency Government Explores Cooperation in Handling Plastic Waste with the Norwegian Ambassador

JAKARTA, NETRALNEWS.COM – The Thousand Islands District Government receives a visit from representatives of the Norwegian Embassy (Embassy) who want to work together in handling plastic waste from the waters to the processing.

The Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad welcomed the arrival and offer of cooperation from the Norwegian delegation regarding waste processing.

“In principle, I like it. Because there is new and sophisticated technology that can overcome waste from water to its processing,”

According to Husein, by using this technology, waste processing can save more energy and time. Because, starting from the garbage collection in the waters to the beach using modern machinery and nets. “Waste management is carried out with a modern incinerator whose residual combustion can be used for water treatment,” he said.

Meanwhile, Norwegian Embassy’s Commercial Counsellor, Fredrik Bjerke Abdelmaguid added, his party would test the tool offered on Pramuka Island as a pilot.

“If the trial is successful for a year, we will deploy the tool to the Thousand Islands to deal with marine waste,” he said.
