“We need to reduce the use of plastic, recycle more plastic, avoid getting plastic where it doesn’t belong, and clean up the plastic that has ended up in nature”. Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, had the opening speech on day two of the Keep Norway Clean annual conference in Oslo.
Several of the MRC members attended the conference. The government is highly engaged in the fight against plastic pollution, domestic and abroad. Norway depend on clean seas to be able to live off what the sea provides. However, the Prime Minister emphasized that one must rely on reliable knowledge and facts, not myths and exaggerations. “We should be both myth-busters and pathfinders in the fight against the plastic monster” Erna Solberg said.
